If your life story includes traumatic circumstances, patterns have been established in your brain. Patterns can be set in a toxic womb, during an intense birth, in the developmental stages of childhood and beyond. These patterns are persistent and difficult to change. They may cause feelings that you don't want any more. Good, you are here. Revising these structures to recapture the vitality and innocence that lives beneath the heavy vibrational waves of sadness, guilt, hopelessness, anger and hatred-is first accomplished through learning.

  

Meditation is proven by science in MRI studies to increase the genetic potential for healing. Specific meditations will increase the gray matter areas that control muscles, sense perception-sight, smell, hearing, taste; memory storage and retrieval;  emotions;  speech;  decision making; and, boost intuitive self-control. White matter is the communication highway between the different parts of the brain-your processing speed.

  

Meditation is the only known preventative for dementias. I know, you are young and not so worried about that, but markers for dementia show up decades before symptoms arrive. 

  

If substance use and abuse are part of your history, Kundalini Yoga and meditation can provide the tools for the body to repair the damage. Transpersonal psychologic techniques can get you underneath the causes of the anxiety and pain that leads to the need for substances in the first place. There is a lot you can do stop further damage, and to repair damage that happened when you didn't know better. It's not your fault. But, it is your responsibility to heal yourself. Bottom line. There is no other way.
